What is your refund policy?
Please note that the Myrtle Beach Marathon reserves the right to reject any entry. Also, we adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is noted on our registration application and when you register for our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual – if you do, this will result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc. There are no exceptions. Click here if you’d like to change your race distance.

Are awards based on gun time or chip time?
Overall awards will be based on gun time, and age group awards will be determined using chip time.

How many participants are allowed in each event?

MB Marathon: 3,000
Marathon Relay: 300 teams
Half Marathon: 5,000
5K:   2,000
Fun Run: No Limit

What is the course elevation?
The highest course elevation is no more than 50 ft.

Is this a Boston Marathon qualifier?
Yes! This is one of the flattest and fastest Boston qualifiers around!

Do I qualify as an Elite Athlete?
An elite athlete may receive one comp entry if he or she meets the standards listed below:

  • Time standards: 2:45:00 marathon or 1:12:00 half marathon for males and 3:15:00 marathon or 1:24:00 half marathon for females.
  • Time standards must be met in the 12 months preceding the race date.
  • Runners must have proof of their time. Email info@mbmarathon.com for details.
  • MBMarathon reserves the right to adjust time standards at any time.
  • All elite athlete requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to race day to info@mbmarathon.com.

How do I become a vendor?

How do I sign up to be a volunteer?
Our volunteer sign up portal will be open soon!

Can’t remember if you registered?
Contact us at info@mbmarathon.com and we’ll check for you!

Can I change to another event distance?

Yes, please complete this form to change your race distance. Refunds will not be given if you are switching from a longer distance to a shorter distance.

What food and drinks will be on the course?
Water and sports will be at all water stops (about every two miles), and fruit and Gu will be offered at Mile 16 and 22.

Can I pick up someone else’s packet?
Yes, you can pick up someone else’s packet if they cannot make it to the expo.  You will need a picture of their photo ID.

Is there a race-day packet pick-up?
No, there will be no race-day packet pick-up! All packets must be picked up at the runners expo held Thursday and Friday. A friend or family member can pick up your race bib if they show your bib email (which will be sent Wednesday prior to the race) or a picture of your photo ID. No exceptions will be made for race day packet pick-up.

Can I wear headphones?
While the Myrtle Beach Marathon does not encourage the use of headphones during the event for safety reasons, you may use them at your own risk.

Can I run with a stroller?
Bicycles, baby strollers, skates, in-line skates, and skate boards are prohibited.

Are there pacers?
Yes, all pacing teams will be located at the start of the race.  Pacing times are listed on the marathon and half marathon tabs.

Can some one else run in my place?
No. Transfers from person to person are not allowed.

Can I drop my bag off at the start and pick it up at the finish?
Yes, there will be a tent for you to drop off your belongings at the start of the race and you can pick them up at the finish line area.

Is there a lost and found?
Any items found during the race will be held by race staff. Contact info@mbmarathon.com if you lost an item.

What happens if I win an award and can’t pick it up?
If you cannot pick it up following the race it will be at the post-race party held at House of Blues Saturday night.

My time is not showing up, what do I do?

There is an error with the results, how do I get it corrected?

When will I get my photos?
All runners will receive an email when photos are available to view and purchase!
